When
you need legal information you talk to an attorney. Your CPA or
financial advisor gives you professional advice about your taxes
and your finances. We don't hesitate to consult with
professionals for information about the law or finances because
we're not expected to be expert in these things.
When
our children are young we buy every book and ask advice from
every friend, teacher and professional we can find if we have a
question. We're not expected to be experts.
You're
not expected to be an expert in caring for an older adult,
either. Sooner or later you will have questions and frustrations
you can't easily find answers to. Often you'll find yourself
needing to make decisions quickly, and those decisions can have
major consequences. Advice from family and friends can often be
wrong, especially if it concerns things like Medicare, Medicaid
or finding the right place to provide care. Doctors often refer
patients to nursing homes when other alternatives would work
just as well.
When
you would like to simply sit down and talk with a professional
who knows about eldercare and how things work, a Caregiver
Consultation can be your best answer.
Because
a Caregiver Consultation doesn't involve your elder you will be
able to talk frankly about the things that you would prefer not
to talk about in front of him or her. All the information you
share is completely confidential and is used only to give you
the best possible guidance and recommendations.
When
you schedule a consultation we will meet at your home, your
office, or my office. If your elder is in the Dallas area and
you live elsewhere we can also arrange for a telephone
consultation.
If
you would like a Caregiver Consultation please give me a call at
(972) 295-7823 or
email me at
info @ eldercareteam.com. We'll talk about how best to proceed and what
information we'll need to gather and share.
